DailyChingu is operated by DailyChingu, a sole proprietor business (data controller for the purposes of applicable privacy law). We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • Your name — used to personalize your daily messages.
  • Email address — collected at checkout for receipts and account support; where used for operator-visible analytics profiles, it is handled as described in Section 4.
  • WhatsApp or LINE contact — used to deliver messages to you.
  • Payment information — processed by Paddle; we do not store card details.
  • Message interaction data — whether messages were delivered or read, to improve the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver your personalized daily Korean messages. (Lawful basis: performance of contract)
  • To process payments and manage your subscription. (Lawful basis: performance of contract)
  • To personalize message content based on your name and preferences. (Lawful basis: performance of contract)
  • To improve service quality and fix issues. (Lawful basis: legitimate interests)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services & International Transfers

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary:

  • Paddle — payment processing (UK/EU). Subject to Paddle's privacy policy.
  • Meta (WhatsApp) — message delivery (USA). Subject to Meta's privacy policy.
  • LINE Corporation — message delivery (Japan). Subject to LINE's privacy policy.
  • OpenAI — AI content generation (USA). Your name may be included in prompts. Subject to OpenAI's privacy policy.
  • PostHog — product analytics and feature infrastructure (EU). We collect governed pageview, onboarding, lesson engagement, and billing/lifecycle projection events using cookies or browser storage where needed for analytics continuity. To help us support you, your analytics profile may include your internal account ID, name, display name, email address, language, messaging platform, lane, coarse account state, subscription-linked/platform-linked flags, and a coarse subscription state label (paid / trial / non-paid). Page context captured with events can include the address of the lesson page you opened. We do not send message contents, lesson text, reply text, payment details, phone numbers, WhatsApp/LINE identifiers, or Paddle identifiers to PostHog. Session replay and autocapture are disabled in this version.

Some of these providers are located outside the Republic of Korea and the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your subscription is active. Upon cancellation and written request, we will delete or anonymize customer-facing profile and lesson data within 30 days unless retention is necessary for service operations, security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Some financial records, fraud/security logs, support evidence, and provider webhook or operational records may be retained longer where required for service operations or by law.

6. Your Rights

Under PIPA (and, where applicable, GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Withdraw consent for processing at any time (where processing is based on consent).
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Request restriction of processing.
  • Data portability (where processing is automated and based on consent or contract).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for session management, checkout flow continuity, product analytics, and service quality improvement. Analytics event properties are designed to avoid raw message contents, lesson text, reply text, payment details, phone numbers, WhatsApp/LINE identifiers, Paddle identifiers, and provider IDs. Your analytics profile may carry operator-visible account details (name, email, language, messaging platform, lane, account-state or linkage flags, subscription state label) as described in Section 4, and page context can include lesson page addresses. We do not enable PostHog session replay or autocapture in this version.

8. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of the Republic of Korea.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via WhatsApp or LINE message before taking effect.
